Questions, answered
Your first visit is more than a quick five-minute skin chat. Allow around 45 to 60 minutes for a full medical skin consultation and scan. This includes taking your history (hormones, medication, past treatments, lifestyle), 2D and 3D imaging and examination, and a clear explanation of what we see with an initial plan, rather than just selling a single facial. You will leave understanding what is causing your skin issues and the steps we will take to address them.
Our prices are based on the time, technology, and complexity involved, not a flat rate per facial. The consultation and scan is £70 with Dr Ayah, or £40 with an associate. Both include a comprehensive report emailed to you after your appointment.
Yes. The plan changes to fit your needs, but our standards stay the same. We regularly treat:
- Sensitive, reactive and barrier-damaged skin
- Pigmented skin tones, where lasers and peels must be chosen very carefully
- Younger skin with acne and congestion
- More mature skin needing collagen support and texture work
Your scan and medical history tell us what your skin can safely tolerate now, and where we need to go slowly. If a treatment is not safe or suitable for your skin type, we will not recommend it, and we will explain why in clear, simple language.
All medical skin treatments carry some level of risk. Our job is to minimise it and explain it to you. Common, short-term effects may include redness, warmth, swelling, mild peeling or dryness, and temporary sensitivity after procedures like microneedling or peels. Less common risks depend on the treatment, such as pigment changes with certain lasers, or infection if aftercare is not followed.
We manage safety by taking a full medical history and checking your medications, matching energy levels and active ingredients to your scan results rather than a generic protocol, and giving you clear aftercare and red-flag instructions in writing. If a treatment is not medically appropriate for you, we will tell you, even if it is the one you were considering.
It depends on what we are treating and your skin’s starting point. With proper skincare and barrier support, most people notice a fresher glow and healthier skin within a few weeks. Texture and scarring usually need several treatments over a few months.
Yes. We can build a home routine and post medical-grade products to you. We are the only clinic in the UK that stocks Korean skincare and combines it with clinical skincare. Shop our skincare at harmonyskin.uk.
We see skin patients at our Halifax clinic (5 Harrison Road, Halifax, HX1 2AF) and our London clinic (10 Harley Street, London, W1G 9PF). Your scan and plan are the same at both.
